Hours of footage in.
Just the action out.
Drop in as many videos as you like (each is checked in turn, so a lot of long ones take a while). Snowcut finds where the action is in each one and stitches the best moments of all of them into a single short montage.
How Snowcut picks, and joins
-
1
It listens
Every tenth of a second of sound is scored. A sound model running on your device tells a shout, gunfire or a cheering crowd from plain noise, and ignores music.
-
2
It watches
Sudden bursts of movement count. A steady pan or a scene change does not, so a slow walk can't beat a real play.
-
3
It stitches
Each video is judged against its own normal, so a quiet clip can still win. The strongest moments across all of them are trimmed at quiet gaps and joined into one montage: build-up, payoff and reaction kept, dead air gone.

Pick where the montage is going when you save, and Snowcut aims the file under that limit. Or pick Just small, or Best quality.
Your videos stay with you
- It runs in this page. The listening, watching and cutting happen on your device, with your browser's own video tools.
- Nothing is uploaded. Your videos are never sent to a server, ours or anyone else's.
- Check it yourself. Open your browser's Network panel while you save a montage and watch: no video leaves.
This test version also sends a usage log (what the page did and how long it took: button presses, timings, sizes and formats) with no file names, pictures or sound, so it can be fixed. It goes away at launch.
Read the Privacy page, including what Snowcut keeps on your device and how to clear it.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. No account, no limit on how many videos you add, and nothing to install.
Does it upload my videos?
No. Everything runs in this page on your device, and the videos stay there. This test version sends a usage log without file names or pictures; see Privacy.
Which files work?
MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV from phones, cameras and screen recorders. If your browser cannot play one, Snowcut makes a smaller copy it can play, on your device.
Why is my iPhone video slow?
iPhone videos are often HEVC, which Chrome, Edge and Firefox cannot play. Snowcut then downloads a converter once and makes a smaller copy first, which takes a while. Safari plays them directly.
Which browsers?
Chrome and Edge are the most tested. Safari and Firefox work too, but some steps can be slower or rougher there, especially saving.
How big can the videos be?
There is no fixed limit, but a long video takes longer to check and your device's memory is the ceiling. The sound model listens to videos up to 20 minutes long; a longer one is judged by loudness and motion only.
Where does the file go?
Saving puts an MP4 in your browser's Downloads (or opens the share sheet on a phone). Nothing is sent anywhere.
Snowcut scored every moment of your videos by sound and motion, took the strongest from each, and joined them. Drag clips to reorder them (on a phone, hold one first), click one to trim it, or remove it.
Tune the picks
Only the best keeps just the clearly strongest moments; Generous lets more through.
